Old Federal Building - inside

Fairly recent work was done to clean up and restore the interior.
This is one of several interior views I'll post.

Old Federal Building - 7th & Cherry

Turning right around after taking the picture posted yesterday, I took a picture of the old Federal Building which is catty-corner to the new parking garage. It is "old" because of its age and because it is not going to be the Federal Building any longer. It will be part of Indiana State University (Business School, I think) and a new Federal Building is to be built a few blocks away. At this time, there is still a branch of the USPS operating inside.

New Parking Garage

This is the new parking garage at 7th and Cherry, still under construction. This used to be an Indiana State University parking lot. Now we'll have two parking garages within 2 blocks in downtown Terre Haute. And we'll still hear complaints from people that there is no parking downtown. Because no one wants to walk a block or two....

Looking East-400 Block of Wabash

I'm just getting started here and am using some older pictures.
This was taken in February 2006, looking east along the 400 block of Wabash.
I was actually taking a picture of the bit of knitting affixed to the tree.
(That's another story, another blog...but here's a close-up.)

Dawn - rosy fingers, etc.

Taken 02/21/2008 - View from my back porch on the near east side of Terre Haute.

Winter storm warnings for later in the day (and the ensuing nasty snow/sleet/ice event) make this picture supporting evidence for the truth in the old adage:
"Red sky at night, sailors' delight / Red sky in morning, sailors' warning."
